My name is Ted Henning and I head up User Training at Support at StudioGPU. Our flagship product, MachStudio Pro, allows users to utilize the power of the GPU to create high quality, real-time CG visualization. We bring in assets from 3D software such as Maya, Max, XSI, Revit and Rhino and have just finished building an exporter for SolidWorks.

We are looking for an experienced SolidWorks user to test the exporter, report any bugs or issues and recommend to our engineers any features or requirements that would be needed for a smooth integration into the standard SolidWorks visualization pipeline. This would probably take two or three days now, and possibly a few more days after the engineers have made changes. We would need this person to work in our studios in Hollywood.

Please email me at ted@studiogpu.com if you would like more details.

    Cheers

    Ted Henning

We are seeking a SolidWorks Designer to join a client of ours in Los Angeles, CA! They are a RAPIDLY growing innovative company with a rare patented system that will revolutionize it’s industry, causing tremendous demand from maritime law.

The candidate is expected to move in to a leadership position within 6 months. Therefore this position is temp to hire in order to ensure a good fit.

Critical abilities for this position include modeling with ”design intent”, which will be fundamental to understand how to build models and assemblies within SolidWorks as it relates to its use in the product. Simply building parts in SolidWorks won’t be enough; they need to be built properly. Parts/assemblies/drawings need to be created using excel based design tables in order to build a configured engineering database. Candidate must already posses the knowledge base to accomplish this in SolidWorks.

Strong understanding of SolidWorks Design Tables is essential and the candidate will be tested in this regard using SolidWorks 2010 to be considered for this position. The company will be implementing PDMWorks for Workgroups, so it is a plus if the user understands PDM or has worked with it in the past, although not required. Candidate should be current on SolidWorks 2008 or higher.

    Requirements:
    – 7-10 years Solidworks experience in an engineering environment.
    – CSWP is a plus but not required
    – Piping experience a plus (we do not use routing though)
    – FEA/analysis a plus
    – Weldments/sheet metal
    – Aerospace background is a plus for discipline reasons
    – Additional Solidworks abilities such as rendering, customizing, etc are a plus.
    – Experience with configuration management is a BIG plus – change notices, revision control, document control (see PDM above)

If interested, email your resume to staffing@qualstaffresources.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
